Product Features

AIM Persistence's Xin'er Cong® series product is a meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine against serogroups A, C, Y, and W135, manufactured from cultures of Neisseria meningitidis serogroups A, C, Y, and W135. The capsular polysaccharide antigens are extracted and purified separately, then mixed and lyophilized with lactose as a stabilizer.

Each dose contains one vial of vaccine and one vial of diluent. The vaccine is a white, loose powder, which becomes a colorless, clear liquid after reconstitution with the accompanying diluent.

Active ingredients: Each dose of vaccine contains 50 μg each of capsular polysaccharides from serogroups A, C, Y, and W135.

Excipients: Each dose of vaccine contains 10.0 mg of lactose.

Vaccine diluent: Sterile, pyrogen-free PBS solution.

What Are the Threats of Meningococcal Meningitis if You Don't Get Vaccinated?

Meningococcal meningitis is an infectious disease, and during peak seasons, both asymptomatic carriers and infected individuals can be sources of infection. However, this disease can be prevented by vaccination. Without vaccination and effective protective measures, infection can lead to rapid onset, rapid progression, high mortality rate, and high disability rate.

Rapid onset: After the onset of the disease, patients will quickly develop high fever and chills, with body temperature rapidly reaching above 40℃.

Rapid progression: If not treated promptly, most fulminant cases will die within 24-48 hours of onset.

High mortality rate: Even with antibiotic treatment after onset, the mortality rate can still reach 10%-15%.

High disability rate: Among survivors, 10%-20% will experience serious sequelae such as hearing loss, nerve damage, or limb deformities.
