What Is the Hepatitis A Virus?

Hepatitis A virus (HAV) belongs to the Picornaviridae family. Its genetic structure is similar to enteroviruses, rhinoviruses, and encephalomyocarditis viruses in the Picornavirus genus, but its nucleotide sequence is completely different. The HAV genome (27-32 nm in diameter) is a single-stranded positive-sense RNA, containing approximately 7500 nucleotides, encoding 2000 amino acids, and containing an open reading frame (ORF).

The HAV gene is divided into three regions from the 5' end, called P1, P2, and P3. The P1 region encodes structural proteins, the P2 region encodes proteins related to transcriptional regulation, and the P3 region encodes RNA polymerase.

AIM Action's Anti-Hepatitis A Virus Vaccine (human diploid cell) is made from the Lv-8 strain of Hepatitis A virus cultured in the human diploid cell line KMB17. After culturing and harvesting the virus, the viral suspension is extracted, ultrafiltered, concentrated, and purified by chromatography. Formaldehyde solution is then added to inactivate the virus, resulting in the final active pharmaceutical ingredient.

More stable strain: The Lv-8 strain (national patent) was isolated and screened by the Kunming Institute during the 1988 Shanghai Hepatitis A outbreak from a typical Hepatitis A patient in Lüsi Town, Jiangsu Province. This strain has the characteristics of a short replication cycle, high virus yield, stable strain, and good immunogenicity.

Cell substrate: KMB17 is a human diploid cell line independently established by the Kunming Institute in 1974. This cell line is safe, controllable, and has been validated over a long period.

Product Specifications and Dosage

Children's Dosage: 0.5ml per vial or syringe, single dose for human use is 0.5ml, containing 320 EU of hepatitis A virus antigen.

Adult Dosage: 1.0ml per syringe, single dose for human use is 1.0ml, containing 640 EU of hepatitis A virus antigen.

(1) Shake well before use. Administer intramuscularly, at the deltoid muscle attachment site on the outer side of the upper arm.

(2) For individuals aged 1-15 years (including 15 years), the children's dosage should be used.  A primary immunization dose of 0.5ml is given, followed by a booster dose of 0.5ml after 6 months.

(3) For individuals over 15 years of age (excluding 15 years), the adult dosage should be used. A primary immunization dose of 1.0ml is given, followed by a booster dose of 1.0ml after 6 months.

AIM Action hepatitis A inactivated vaccine has a good immune effect on both adults and children, the conversion rate is similar to that of imported hepatitis A inactivated vaccine, and the geometric mean titer GMT(mIU/mL) of antibody is better than that of imported hepatitis A inactivated vaccine.
