Since the outbreak of meningococcal disease associated with serogroup A in the Hajj in 1987, Saudi Arabia has required all pilgrims to be immunized with meningococcal vaccines. Due to the crowded crowds during the Hajj and the high carrier rate of Neisseria among the Hajj people, the outbreak of epidemic meningitis once became a serious problem during the Hajj process.

In response to this situation, the Saudi Ministry of Health has required that all pilgrims must be vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis. The Saudi government will not issue Hajj visas to those who lack vaccination certificates.

Product Composition

AIM Persistence's Xin'er Cong® series Vaccines for Hajj is a white, loose substance that becomes a colorless, clear liquid after being dissolved in the diluent.

Active ingredients: Each dose of vaccine contains 50μg each of capsular polysaccharides from serogroups A, C, Y, and W135.

Excipients: Each dose of vaccine contains 10.0mg of lactose.

Vaccine diluent: Sterile, pyrogen-free phosphate-buffered saline (PBS).

Experimental Data and Results

A clinical trial involving 900 people showed that the antibody seroconversion rates of four serological tests A, C, W135, and Y of Meningococcal polysaccharide were all greater than 96% one month after vaccination, indicating good immunogenicity.

Xin'er Cong® has a shelf life of up to 36 months. (High water content in freeze-dried formulations can affect the shelf life and stability.)
